Sóller

With around 12.000 inhabitants, Sóller is the main town on the Serra de Tramuntana , the mountain range that runs along the north-west coast of Mallorca. It is nestled in a valley, which opens out on reaching the sea and is covered with orange and lemon groves. Sóller is linked to Palma by a historic railway line, which covers the 28km to the capital in under an hour.

Sóller is just 3 km. from Port Sóller, a fishing village situated in a natural harbour, which can be easily reached by using the 1920´s tram that runs between the two towns. As well as being a pretty fishing village, Port Sóller has a small beach which is ideal for swimming and sunbathing, though it fortunately doesn´t tend to be overrun with visitors.

As with the rest of the north-west coast, the mountains here run down to the sea, forming cliffs and small coves. There are boat trips from the port out to some of these coves (Cala Tuent, Sa Calobra, Torrent de Pareis).

Sóller´s architecture is very appealing and it is characterised by the typical stone houses which abound.

The hub of town life is found in the bars and terrace cafés of the Plaça de la Constitució. The town also offers cultural activities, as well as the two museums, you can also see the work of numerous local artists, who regularly put on exhibitions; you can also enjoy the lively local festivals.

The School

Our pleasant classrooms benefit from the natural light that floods into them and are all fitted with air-conditioning. Trabalenguas is just 50 metres from Sa Plaça (the main square), in a quiet, wide street with views over the gardens of a stately home.

At Trabalenguas we organise intensive courses, standard courses and private classes Courses+Prices . Our teachers are all native Spaniards, and thanks to their experience, initiative and dedication, they create a great atmosphere in the classroom. By keeping groups small, we are able to personalise teaching materials and methods.

Each class is divided into two halves: in the first half we use enjoyable methods to systemise the grammatical structures, practise writing and work on pronunciation through reading. In the second half, we do listening comprehension exercises, and focus on oral language production by means of activities such as games, debates, and drama. We hold the opinion of our students in high regard, and it is for this reason that we maintain an ongoing exchange of ideas and opinions throughout the course.

Accommodation

If you want us to organise accommodation, we offer the following options: hotel, pension, apartment, country house, or living-in with a family. If you choose to live-in with a family, not only will you learn Spanish in the classroom, but you´ll also have the chance to get to discover Spanish culture at first hand. The basic idea is that the student joins the normal family life and adapts to the local way of life and standards.

Staying in a country house gives you the opportunity to enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside, many times with a garden with olive, orange or lemon trees where you can unwind and talk.

If you prefer to stay in a hotel or pension, we can make a reservation for you. Also, if you wish, there is the possibility of renting apartments. Naturally, we do all that we can to satisfy the requirements of our students, and we are quite happy to take the responsibility for reserving a room or apartment; for this service we only charge € 45. The prices of hotels, pensions and apartments depend on their category and the time of year, for this reason we give information on prices when we have more details on what you are looking for.
